USA TRACK & FIELD MONTANA ASSOCIATION
GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
 
 
Purpose: 
 
 To better serve the goals and  vision for USA Track & Field  Montana Association in building  its membership and enhance  existing services to its members,  the Association is offering grants  available to individuals that  promote one or more disciplines  of USA Track & Field.
 
Who Is Eligible:
 
Individuals that are current members of the USA Track & Field Montana Association as an athlete, coach, official, volunteer or a new/existing USATF sanctioned club depending on the grant requirements. 
 
2022 Grants Available
 
  • Clubs Incentives Initiative – $2000 Funded by a USATF Association Grant – 
 
Club Incentives for Officials/Coaches/Safesport Volunteer Certifications – up to $500 reimbursement to Existing Clubs for expenses related to USATF certification/education for club coaches, USATF certified officials, and Safesport certification of volunteers. 
 
Officials/coaches/volunteers utilizing these funds must work the State Association meet and/or Regional meet, if hosted in Montana, in the same calendar year as expenses are incurred and reimbursement is requested. 
 
  • Reimbursement requests shall provide documentation by individual of amounts requested, with validation from Assoc/Regional meet host of official/volunteer duties and hours worked.  
  • Club officials will validate coach involvement and Club hours volunteered for USATF coach-related expenses.
 
Expression of interest by participating clubs need to be submitted to the Clubs Incentives Chair (Liza Dennehy) by May 31 2022 and club approved requests for reimbursement submitted no later than November 15 2022
 
  • New Club Development – Funding is pending from the USATF  Growth to Impact Grant – 
 
New club development Program is intended to foster the development of new USATF sanctioned clubs in the Montana Association.  Up to $500.00 grants are available to the development and sanctioning of new USATF sanctioned clubs. Funds may be used to defray costs associated with coach’s certification, uniforms, basic equipment.
 
Expression of interest need to be submitted to the Memberships and Sanctions Chair (Greg Mohl) by March 1 2022 and reimbursement of expenses will be arranged to follow on a case by case basis
 
  • LDR/MUT Development – Funding is pending from the USATF  Growth to Impact Grant – 
LDR/MUT development grants are available to assist qualified meet directors with USATF sanction fees willing to host USATF championship races or grand prix series events. 
Expression of interest need to be submitted to the Memberships and Sanctions Chair (Greg Mohl) at least 8 weeks prior to the event and reimbursement of expenses will be arranged to follow on a case by case basis. 
 
  • Cross Country Development – Funding is pending from the USATF 
Growth to Impact Grant – 
The Cross Country Development Grant is intended to expand participation in Cross Country Running in the Montana Association. Possible candidates include expanding opportunities to enjoin all class High School participation in a single event, hosting middle school competitions or developing Open and Masters series/Grand Prix events.
The Cross Country Development Grant will be jointly administered by the LDR and Youth Chair. Proposals submitted by August 1 will be evaluated on the basis of their merit and potential to expand membership and participation in USATF.
  • Leadership/Coaches Development – Funding is pending from the USATF  Growth to Impact Grant – 
 
The Leadership/Coaches Development grant recognizes there are coaches in the community that would benefit their athletes and the greater Montana USATF community by taking an active role in USATF. Limited funding is available to help defray costs of coaches and/or Officials certification of unattached individuals interested in furthering the mission and goals of Montana USATF. Officials/coaches/volunteers utilizing these funds must work the State Association meet and/or Regional meet, if hosted in Montana, in the same calendar year as expenses are incurred and reimbursement is requested. 
 
Expression of interest should include a two-paragraph summary of anticipated impact and request for funds directed to Greg Mohl (President) for consideration by the Board of Directors. Potential reimbursement will be based upon strength of application and funds available
 
 
 
Programs: 
 
  • Club Membership - A club membership with USATF allows competitive teams of athletes to participate in events as a club, enter relay teams, or have athletes represent the club in competition (click here).
  • Coaches Education - USATF provides coaching education opportunities of all levels with a science based, coach driven and athlete centered approach; aiding in the tradition and pursuit of the World’s number one track and field team (click here).
  • Officials - conducts programs to certify, train, and supervise competition officials in all disciplines of USATF. Officials play a vital role in making thousands of events run smoothly and safely and are essential for maintaining the highest levels of integrity at all levels of competition (click here).
